I’m Alexander, a strength coach who blends clear communication, smart planning, and a whole lot of community to help everyday lifters actually enjoy getting strong.
My coaching style is built on three things: communication, practicality, and connection.
I’ve been coaching for over six years and hold a Bachelor of Exercise Science plus an Honours degree in Health Science. Over that time I’ve coached and competed at national powerlifting events, worked with hundreds of lifters, and learned how to break training down in a way that just makes sense.

I want people to understand why they’re doing something, feel supported through the process, and train in a way that fits real life not just perfect scenarios. I’m big on planning, big on consistency, and even bigger on making sure training doesn’t feel like a chore.
Groove Lifting Club has grown from that philosophy. I love creating an environment where people feel welcome, supported, and excited to walk through the door. The coaching matters, but the community takes it to another level.
WHO DO you love working with?
I love coaching everyday lifters who genuinely want to get strong, feel better, and have fun doing it. People who care about progress, enjoy learning, and who appreciate structure and strategy in working towards their goals. I don’t care if you’re a beginner or a national level lifter, as long as you’re committed to the process I’ll love coaching you.
WHAT MAKES your coaching different?
I’m obsessed with communication and clarity. I don’t just hand over a program, I explain the plan, why it matters, and how it fits the bigger picture. I combine technical coaching with a community-first approach, meaning you’re supported both inside and outside the gym. And I always coach with real life in mind because your schedule, stress, energy, and goals actually shape your training.
WHAT DO YOU love OUTSIDE OF WORK?
Outside of coaching, I love being creative, which you’ll notice through Groove’s various avenues. Outside of that I love footy and watching Essendon disappoint me year after year. Also a sucker for some house music and love getting to sets when my favourite DJs are in town.

When I contacted Alexander I was some guy who liked lifting weights and watching YouTube about lifting weights. Now, a year later, I'm a powerlifter. I've got two meets under my belt (with more to come), I know actual real-life people who aren't on my TV I can talk to about it and - most importantly - I've got a coach in my corner paving a path towards absolutely smoking some landmark lifts. The man strikes the perfect balance between rigorous, structured, numbers-based training and understanding the human parts of progression. A lifter needs more than a spreadsheet to grow and Alex gets that.

There’s nothing quite like what Alex has created with Groove fting Club. Not only is Alex knowledgeable of all things fitness and strength training; a complete master of his craft but more importantly, he is patient, understanding and will be your biggest cheer leader. Alex has backed me from day 1, given me confidence and built up my strength and has now created an environment where all the other members of Groove are behind me too! I couldn’t recommend him enough!

I can’t recommend Groove enough. From D1, it felt less like joining a gym and more like becoming part of a community. Alex genuinely cares about your progress, mindset and overall well-being, and the vibe in the gym reflects that. The thing that really sets Groove apart is its welcoming, inclusive atmosphere- no matter your experience level you’ll never feel out of place. There’s truly something for everyone. People cheer each other on and there’s always a social side to tap into, from chats between sets to group events and catch-ups outside the gym. Since joining I’ve seen huge improvements in my lifts, confidence and consistency but also in how I think about training long-term. Its not just about numbers on the bar- it’s about building strength, feeling good, enjoying the process and ofc the people <3
